Saturday at the farmers market was a long one! Got up at 3:30am and drove to Columbia. Picked up the cargo van and got to the market around 6am. Set up took 1.5 hours. The market itself goes from 8-12. Then tearing down takes 1-2 hours. Then we went to the cold storage facility where all the meat products are stored on order to fill the freezer for next weeks farmers market. We finished up at 7pm! 15.5 hour long day!
Did I mention that the heat index was 97 at one point!
It took me all day today to recover. The heat really took me down by the end of yesterday.
Tomorrow is the beginning of the work week. I am leading morning devotions with Cody the hired man. Then we have fencing to do, feeding and all the rest.
Right now sitting on the picnic table in the back yard listening to all of the sounds coming from the farms around us as night descends on north-central Missouri.
Can hear foxes and coyotes yelping along with the crickets and the frogs down by the mill pond. The cows are huffing and mooing occasionally.
The sun just set and I locked the front gate.
Its time to read and meditate. Then off to bed.
Goodnight one and all!
