Survived the night!-Day 73

Woke up at 530am and struck camp. My friend Wayne was up and ready to move on hoping to get his girlfriend out of jail. She has a 9am court date.

Slept relatively well. Got cold last night. Wayne sleeps out in the open without a tent only a sleeping bag so the squiters got him good. That's the nice thing about tents keeps the bugs and critters where they belong--outside.

Reconfigured my backpack and getting ready to head to McDonalds for coffee. Treating Wayne to some breakfast.

We had an enlightening conversation about life and God. Although not in agreement with certain principles he espouses we found commonality in the things we could and agreed to disagree on others. He is a believer and like me graduated from the same almater  the University of Hard Knocks. I graduated summa cum laude Wayne graduated cum laude.

Decided to try to stay in town 2  more nights. The Baptists said I could stay only 1 night...but then again they are Baptists. Know what I mean?

I will call on some of the other congregations to see if I can stay. I figure since Mark Mahnken is going to drive right through Lexington on his way to Warrensburg might as well stay put. Why hike 16 miles in 90 degree heat if not necessary?

Anyway its off to Mickey D's for breakfast. Ciao!@/
