Will be leaving on schedule either this Sunday or Monday for Omaha. Mark Mahnken will drive me there as I already completed my walk just 30 some miles shy of Kansas City. KC and Omaha are about the same distance away from Denver.
Staying with a friend for one night in Omaha then back to my walk. Will be paralleling I-80 all the way to the Colorado border. Then will take a road which parallels I-76 which takes me into Denver proper.
Will work two jobs one paying the other volunteer when I arrive in Denver. I expect to be in Denver first part of September or the latter part of August. Its anyone's guess.
Will be walking through Aurora, Grand Island, Kearney (where the pioneer museum goes over the interstate) Ogallala( if any of you watched the 4 hour movie Lonesome Dove arguably the best western movie ever made you will remember Ogallala) and North Platte. My route parallels both the Platte River Valley and I-80 in Nebraska. I know the route well as I have driven it so many times going between Morton and Denver.
The Mahnkens are coming home late this afternoon. Then on Saturday I will be doing my last Columbia MO farmers market. Then head out Sunday or Monday for Omaha.
Yesterday the hired man and I went hunting for fox on the ranch. We only saw one fox and Cody hit it in the stomach. Wounded and presumed dead.
Just searching news site. Another plane went down this one in Africa apparently due to storms. Third major plane crash in a week.
Took a picture one of Jub Jubs two kittens. They are skittish and this is the first time they have come out in the open. They are barn cats and not house cats.
