Slept in wetness last night after storm passed through. Tent didn't blow over but I had set it up at the bottom of a very very slight rise and rainwater rolled down and under the tent and the bottom got wet. Miserable trying to sleep. And it got cold on top of it.
If that wasn't enough literally every 20-30 minutes the train blows through and the tracks are right up against the south boundary of the park i am camped at and only 100 yards away. At night their estimated speed is 65 mph...thru town. In the day 45 mph. They blast those horns like the 2nd Coming is being heralded!
Woke up or I should I say I got up at 530am to a frosty wet world.
There is a lady across the street from the park and she opened her door last night and watched me on and off through midnight...even though I hid my tent behind trees and bushes. Then some people in a van came over to her house last night and stayed the night.
Probably had nothing to do with me but curious. Think she was scared of the vagrant staying in the park?
Ok now 2 trains coming at the same time one going west the other east. This morning it is every 5-10 minutes between trains. What in the heck are they transporting?
Will hobble down to the farmers coop and clean up and change clothes and shave and charge my phone. Then down to the grocery for some food.
It looks like we are going to get the same weather tonight. Debating on whether to stay or move on to Julesberg 11 miles down the road. Could get caught in it out on Rt 138. Doesn't appear to be any park in Julesberg to bivouac in.
Decisions decisions!
Wish I could take a hot shower! Haven't slept in a house since Pastor Dunbar invited me in a week ago??
Well the farmers coop should be opening in a half hour so I got to get ready.
