Met Justin Tjaden the GM for the Julesberg Advocate and Norman Campiglia town resident

Met Norman at the park in Julesberg, CO today. Born in 1938 and raised in Denver. Retired here. No family here. Was married once. He operated machinery all of his career. Big believer in living a simple life. Lives alone. I asked if he gets lonely and he said yes it does at times but he prefers living alone. He rides his bike every day.

30 years ago he used to ride his bike through Berthoud Pass by Fraser and between Steamboat Sprngs and Denver. I told him I hated driving through Berthoud Pass which I used to do to get to Winter Park and Fraser to go tubing down the slopes during winter. The Pass would be snow covered and I drove it at night sometimes during a snow storm and I couldn't tell where the edge of the road was and no guardrails and 3000 feet straight off!

Dropped in at the Julesberg Advocate the local weekly paper and met with Justin Tjaden the General Manager. He got my story then we talked about whats going in in his life. He told me I could stay with him but he's leaving for Europe soon to visit some friends. He suggested I ask the Sheriff if I can camp in the park by the train tracks. Yippy. More trains again!

Visited with Sheriff Randy Peck. That's my next post.

The last pic is of Justin Tjaden.
