Took down some pine trees and an aspen. Had Zack and Steven in addition to Rich. The work went smooth. I pole pruned an ash.
The only glitch was the chipper starter went out. Rich was a mechanic in the motor pool when he was in the US Army stationed in West Germany. Rich changed it out and away we went!
Afterward, I went down to Fireside Books and Coffee Shop on Hampden in Engelwood. Discussed books with the baristas. Fun.
First pic us Zack a 19 year old in the National Guard waiting for deployment. Second pic is Steven who is going to night school to be a welder. Other pics are of the work we did today and if the Fireside Books and Coffee reading Walden by Henry David Thoreau.
Will walk back to Nelsons a nice 4 mile walk.
Bruce, the simple life you're living is way cool. A day's work to earn your keep with down to earth folks; time to reflect in the evening. You don't appear to be worried about tomorrow. Not a bad way to live, eh?
ReplyDeleteWhats tomorrow? Tomorrow never comes. You are always in the present...the now. Haha! Well is true. My anxiety levels have gone way down since I left Morton on April 28. I do like working at manual labor feeling tired when im done taking a shower then head down to Fireside for a coffee a good book and a chat with the baristas. Its a good life to just keep it simple and love all the little things in life. Thanks for the comment Brett!!
