Staying one more night in Big Springs due to blisters

The sole of my right foot is actually cracking. Thought it was a blister but its a deep crack in the skin. I am going to wrap it up and not walk today.

My left foot has a blister on the right side of one of my toes as well as one on the heel.

So, I will walk into Colorado tomorrow instead.

Weatherman says more storms tonight. Yuk. Still trying to dry out my sleeping bag and tent!

Hung out at the Farmers Coop gas station. Bunch of retired farmers arguing who got more rain than the others. The poll indicates a half inch to an inch.

These are just the kind of people I like to talk to. They are down to earth country folk with more common sense in their little finger than most( meaning me) have in their whole bodies.

Its going to get to 88 degrees with lots of humidity today. Elevation is about 3300 feet.

Guess what... the 50th train just went through...50 th since I woke up this morning. Ok so I exaggerated a bit. Go sue me!

The flies are so bad that people go around town carrying fly swatters!

Here in the park I am at their mercy!

    1. Tried that but it got hotter which exacerbated the situation. All the walkers across the country get blisters all the time. Nota lot can be done.
