Day 42- Beginning of the end of my Parisian stay!

Attended Sunday School taught by John Mitchell. Subject was God is love. Very informative. It was decided by the group that love is not an emotion but rather action or intentional deliberative action done in furtherance of another's interest.

Attended church services after Sunday School. Sat with Charles and Kathy Miller. Charles grew up in the Christian Apostolic Church in Morton located on Happ Lane. This church is a more conservative offshoot of the Apostolic Church.  Charles and I  talked of those we knew in Morton especially Karl and Minnie Glueck. Karl was a blacksmith who owned/operated a shop just two blocks from where I grew up. I also knew both Gluecks from seeing them during their visits to the Morton Apostolic Church.

Charles and Kathy operate a farm a few miles away in rural Holliday, MO.

We attended a fundraiser at the fairgrounds for the benefit of the fire department. The food was cooked by the Brights. Of course, the food was excellent and the conversation was similarly in line!

Walked around Paris a bit to get the thick gelled blood in my coronary arteries flowing again. Gotta prepare for when I leave Paris this week.

Met Angela Fields while I walking down Main Street. She yelled out a greeting at me while she was driving down the road. She saw me at the fundraiser which I believe she was in charge of. We had a very nice talk. She wants to follow my trip on my blog.

Cheryl Bright will text Mark's (cattle rancher)phone number to me so I can call him direct about staying one or two nights on his cattle ranch outside Salisbury.

Tonight I need to write another article for my weekly column at the Morton Times.

Tomorrow I would like to get the gutters at Lois's cleaned out as well as mow Lois's yard which is 3 lots combined!

  1. I remember Charles from about 40 some years ago..I used to run with those kids..I think he has a sister Donna. It can be such a small world sometimes. Hope you have a beautiful day tomorrow as it was here today. Your work will be a pleasure! blessings!

  3. Twyla and Marty: yes it is definitely a small world...we are so interconnected and rarely know it. But I'm seeing it out here on the road.
