Spoon River Valley south of Lewistown. Edgar Lee Masters wrote about this exact hill in Across Spoon River back in 1935. Beautiful country. He and his family were moving from Petersburg to Lewiston. Crossed the Illinois River at Havana on a ferry. They came up this hill in a wagon with their belongings circa 1880.
